Welcome to Balefire where we provide you with the best in hand-selected wines and beers. Wish you were here!
We're not a beer bar, and we're not a wine bar. We're both. We like to say that we specialize in fine fermentables. For years we've had to go to one type of bar for one beverage and another type of bar for another. That simply doesn't make any sense, so we built a bar to treat both equally. We hand-select the best beverages in terms of value and quality to give you the best experience possible.
Beer
As homebrewers, judges, beer-journalists, and discerning consumers we know beer! We know that quality, variety, and rarity are what get us to come to bars and keep us coming back. So while we only have 10 taps at the moment, we try hard to keep them eclectic, fresh, and interesting, and back that up with a large bottle selection (which you can buy to go).
Our goal is not to carry any draft beers that you can get anywhere else in the North End. We also try to keep 2 Belgians on draft at all times and fill that out with the best seasonals we can find.
Add to that weekly cask night and a few taps reserved for our very own beers soon to be contract brewed by a local brewery, and we hope that there is something for everybody.
Food
You cannot have wine without food. Balefire is proud to present the best wine food around, tapas. Brought to you by Chef Clara from Kafe Neo in Mill Creek. We feature a rotating menu of small, robust plates perfect for enjoying with any glass of wine.
Additionally, we have, by far, the best desserts in Everett, from Judy Tallant of Tallant House Desserts to match our dessert wine selection. We can also provide food and desserts for any special occasion.

Wine
20 years ago, Coopers made Time magazine by putting 20 beers on tap. 10 years ago, Fred's was voted one of the 10 best beer bars in the country for carrying Belgians on tap. Now, there is hardly a bar without 12 well-maintained taps and at least a few selections for craft beer lovers.
Sadly, despite the latest resurgence in "wine bars," wine service and selection have not kept up to speed. We set out to rectify that by building our very own cruvinet to serve 24 wines on tap, under atmospheric and temperature control.
At Balefire, we work with a number of distributors and winemakers to hand select wines that meet our criteria for both quality and value. Then, we treat these wines with care.
In fact, once a bottle is opened and put under argon gas in the cruvinet, it's more inert than it was in the bottle! This means every glass from that bottle will taste exactly the same. And this also means that we can put on rare and expensive bottles for you to try that you may never otherwise get a chance at.
